For some reason I have devoted more than half of my life to cycling. First as a frequent user, become athlete. An obsession that turned me on a path of adventure cycling with a flair for loneliness.
I came into bicycle shops as an enthusiast and worked my way up from the shop to the workshop, as a store manager, as a wheel builder, dream bike maker, bikefitter and in my current role as a mechanic, advisor and trainer.
My creative training as an artist has led me to continuously investigate my field of work to find the appropriate means/methods/skills.
In recent years I have focused on the relationship between rider and bicycle. My approach takes from ergonomics, physiology, and rider experience to ascertain the right 'fit'. Allowing the rider to come to fruition by honing in on their capabilities as well as acknowledging their shortcomings, instead of adhering to rule-of-thumb standards and norms. This is how interesting stories reveal themselves and custom-tailored bikes are made.
